During the 10-day tour through Armenia you will not only learn that Armenia was the first country to adopt Christianity as a state religion, but will also visit the pit where St. Gregory the Illuminator was imprisoned for 13 years for his faithfulness to Christianity. You will make a pilgrimage to the holy city of Etchmiadzin which is the spiritual center of Armenia. Here, every church has its own story, and you can get full information about Christianity and its adoption in Armenia. And, of course, a trip to Armenia can not pass without visiting the pearl of Armenia – Lake Sevan which is situated among mountains and is located at an altitude of 2000m. Day 1: Arrival at Zvartnots airport. Here you will receive your guide. Transfer from airport to hotel. Accommodation.
Day 2: Yerevan Breakfast at the hotel. We start the tour from History Museum of Armenia. Visit to Tsitsernakaberd, memorial dedicated to victims of the Armenian Genocide. Lunch. Visit to Matenadaran, the museum of manuscripts where about 17,000 ancient manuscripts are kept. Leisure. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 3: Yerevan – Garni – Geghard – Yerevan “]Breakfast at the hotel. Visit to Erebuni Fortress, founded in 782 BC, the silent witness of the ancient stone of Yerevan. We will visit the only pagan temple of Garni (II c.) and looking at the picturesque gorge called Azat (World Heritage of UNESCO). We will visit the cave monastery of Geghard (V-XII c., World Heritage of UNESCO). Lunch at Garni, in a village house. Here we will see how the villagers prepare traditional Armenian bread lavash. Return to Yerevan. National Gallery. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 4: Yerevan – Echmiatsin – Yerevan Breakfast at the hotel. Travel to the holy city of Echmiatsin, with its cathedral and churches registered in the list of World Heritage of UNESCO since 2000. Visit to the Cathedral (IV c.), the temple of the Saint Hripsime (VII c.), Saint Gayane (VII c.), and the archaeological site of Zvartnots (VII c, World Heritage of UNESCO). Return to Yerevan. Lunch. Paradjanov Museum, a unique artist world known film director. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 5: Yerevan – Amberd – Aruj – Dashtadem -Talin – Mastara – Gyumri – Haghpat”] Breakfast at the hotel. Travel to the slopes of Mount Aragats where lies the fortress of Amberd (X c.). On Yerevan-Gyumri road visit to another thirteenth-century karavansaray. Aruj cathedral (VII c.) with the excavated remains of the Mamikonian palace. Continue the journey to Dashtadem Fortress (X-XVII c.). Talin Cathedral (VII c.). Visit S. Hovhannes curch (V c.) in Mastara. Lunch. Marmashen Monastery (X c.). We will travel north to the Lori region. Overnight in Haghpat.
Day 6: Haghpat – Sanahin – Odzun – Akhtala – Dilijan “]Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the monastery of Haghpat (X c., World Heritage of UNESCO) and the monastery of Sanahin (X c., World Heritage of UNESCO). Visit to Odzun temple (VI c.), one of the oldest Christian churches in the country. Lunch. Visit to monastery of Akhtala (X c.) with breathtaking frescoes (XIII c.). Travel to the northeast, the region of forests, to the pleasure resort of Dilijan. Overnight in Dilijan.
Day 7: Dilijan – Goshavank – Sevan – Noratus – Selim – Sisian “]Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the Goshavank monastery (XII c.). Travel to mountainous Lake Sevan, the pearl of Armenia, which is at a height of about 2000m, visit Sevan monastery (IX c.) in the Sevan peninsula. Lunch. Khachkars of Noratus (XIII c.). We travel to Selim Pass, through which passed the Great Silk Road, visit Selim Karavansaray (XIV c.). Continue the journey south to Zorats Karer (or Karahunj) Armenian Stonehenge (V millennium BC). Overnight in Sisian.
Day 8: Sisian – Noravank – Khor Virap – Yerevan. Breakfast at the hotel. Travel to the Vayots Dzor region, through a picturesque canyon reach the monastery Noravank (World Heritage of UNESCO), hidden among the red rocks, one of the most beautiful and unique monasteries of Armenia. In the winery, we will taste local wines of Areni. Lunch. Visit to the monastery of Khor Virap near the foot of Ararat, where St. Gregory the Illuminator remained imprisoned for 13 years. On the way from Artashat to Yerevan to all the time majestic Mount Ararat will be in sight, we arrive at Yerevan.
Day 9: Yerevan – Ashtarak – Ohanavan – Saghmosavank – Yerevan. Breakfast at the hotel. Visit Karmravor Church (VII c.) in Ashtarak. Visit Hovhannavank monastery (XIII c.) and Saghmosavank monastery (V-XIII c.). Return to Yerevan. Ararat Brandy Factory, where we will visit the sector of aging cognac, the factory museum, the tasting room and shop. Short walk along Mashtots Avenue with views to the Market Hall and Blue Mosque (the only one in the country). Leisure. Farewell dinner. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 10: Departure Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to airport Zvartnots. Departure.

* The program also includes a visit to the Vernissage, the craft market where you can see the works of Armenian craftsmen working with silver, various stones, wood, ceramics, paintings and sculptures, dolls and more. As the Vernissage works only on Saturdays and Sundays the visit depends on the date of arrival.
